Ability to save a draft e-mail

Except for the preliminary decision e-mail template, which can be saved, other e-mails drafted by editors or administrators from within the system (invitations, other person-to-person e-mails), cannot be saved.  The only options are to 'save and send' or to 'cancel and close window.'  Could there be an option to save e-mails that are being drafted, so that they are not completely lost if the system times out?
