Revision deadline expiration time
We have so many authors log in on the day of the deadline, only to find that the deadline has already expired. Is there any chance that the deadline could expire at the end of the day instead of the start so instead of 12.01 EST 23.59 EST? We put instructions in the Author Centre to advise them of the 'early' expiration but as we know, many authors do not read instructions. Alternatively, could the deadline date shown not show the day before the actual deadline so that if the author logs in last minute, they still have chance to submit their revision?
It is highly frustrating that multiple requests to implement a deadline expiry option to the end of the day (23:59) are being ignored.
Some journal administrators have seemingly circumvented the problem by setting the journal timezone to Hawaii. Can anybody confirm that this works? Are there any problems associated with changing the setting in that way?
