File type restrictions for reviewer uploads should be different than those for authors
Hi background: we have the following requirements: (1) We do not allow AUTHOR to upload PDF files since this leads to trouble at production stage (2) We do, however, want to allow REVIEWER uploads as PDF files. It seems that both (AUTHOR and REVIEWER) upload restrictions are governed by the same control list ("File extensions to restrict on upload"). This means that if we add PDF to this list because of requirement (1) we are blocking requirement (2) >> Our suggestion: please create two separate lists "Reviewer file extensions to restrict on upload " and "Author file extensions to restrict on upload" Thank you for considering Stefan Wiley
I have a similar problem with my journal. Although we allow authors to upload PDFs (in rare cases, usually when there's a formatting glitch in the Word original), we prefer Word for production purposes. However, reviewers frequently upload PDFs instead of Word documents, and we need to curtail that. Two distinct lists of allowable uploaded file formats--one for the author, one for the reviewer--would be very helpful.
