Adjust Search Results for Hyphenated Names

It would be helpful if search results displayed the last names that are hyphenated, even if only one name was searched. For example, if you enter "Smith" into the Quick Search (or as the Last Name in the Advanced Search), the search results would include Bob Smith-Williams and Mary Jones-Smith. This would also be useful for compound last names that are not hyphenated (e.g. Alex van Dieger). Though the  wildcard * feature would solve this, I've found that authors and editors rarely use that trick. This occasionally prompts them to create duplicate accounts, often with slightly different names.
