File Upload for Cover Letter, New User Interface

Authors and Admins can no longer upload multiple files in the Cover Letter field with the new S1 release--which now features a new user interface when you click "Edit This Information" in Manuscript Information. The new interface was a jarring change, and not the user-friendly, easy-to-update, one-stop-shopping of the previous version. And, along with this change, is the removal of the Browse button to upload more than one document for the Cover Letter. For the past several years, my journal has been having authors attach related/previously published articles with their cover letters so editors can gauge potential overlap (in tandem with iThenticate/CrossCheck) when evaluating a submission. This saves them the trouble of having to dig through Manuscript Files, with all the info they need right on the Manuscript Information page. We really need this changed back to the way it was. It doesn't make sense to have eliminated this feature overnight--and it's putting a burden on us because now we have to redo a policy that's been in place for over five years.

The cover letter feature was updated in release 4.19 to accept multiple files. Thanks for your feedback.
