We receive several requests each year for more than one corresponding author on a paper at submission. The single corresponding author option on S1M does not allow work arounds except by adding a cc email on a different author's account which is questionable ethically because the account may hold more than the one paper concerned. When publishers are increasingly allowing papers to have two authors listed as corresponding authors in published works, the submission site should also allow this.
