Automatic Un-assignment of Overdue reviewers

It would be really helpful if there is an option of automatic un-assignment of overdue reviewers in SAGE Track. For example, an overdue reviewer will get automatically unassigned after x number of days. That means, if we do not secure the review after x days of reviewer agreement, the site will automatically unassigned the reviewer and send an automatic email.

This is just like the "Auto-decline" feature.

I agree that this is a good idea, but would suggest allowing the journal to choose when the un-assignment should occur based on their journals. I would not personally un-assign someone the second the paper became overdue, but that is just my judgement based on the journals I work with. I would probably give them at least until 2 weeks past due. Mainly because we are relying on people with professional careers and personal lives to donate their time (at least for my journals). They may have started the review, but life made it so that they could not complete it right away. Being removed the second someone becamse overdue would likely irritate reviewers who maybe already devoted some time, but knew they would not get to the review until maybe a week after the due date. Sure, it's less than ideal, but at least the review is received, and the reviewer is not irritated so the reviewer will likely agree again.

I have also received a similar request from one of the associate editors. I have to manually do this process. This feature will save a lot of time.

Yes, this is helpful. This should be available as an option on all journals but should only be implemented on journals where required.
