Unfortunately, if anyone goes to update their profile to select their institution it clears out all of the fields including department, phone, fax, etc. I was going to clean up my Editorial Board members until I realized I would be creating a bigger issue than solving. If you want people to select their institution, you should at least limit the fields that are touched by this correction (facility and address) and not make everyone retype/re-enter everything else that is already recorded. Also, I agree that the symbol used should not reflect what is typically used to draw your attention to errors.
