Administrators with sites that do not branch can use the calendars to set when a new Manuscript Type (IE- Special Issue Opens and Closes) this way they do not have to manually go in and update. The calendars can be similar to those of the reviewer and author due date/extension calendars. The calendars should be editable in case extensions are given to the Special Issue. This will save admins. the hassle of remembering the open and close date of multiple Special Issues in multiple sites.
